How secure is your site?

We use state-of-the-art encryption software to ensure that all transactions on our site remain safe and secure. This also protects your personal information against manipulation, partial or full loss, and unauthorised access by third parties. You can find further details in our Privacy Policy.

Why should I create an account with TimeTraders?

Registering with us connects you to the world of premium watches. You will receive communications about timepieces as we receive them into stock. An additional benefit is faster processing if you buy or sell pieces using TimeTraders.

Buying

How do I buy a watch or accessories from TimeTraders?

Simply follow the instructions on our website and make payment via Payfast. If the value of your order exceeds R3,000.00 TimeTraders will cover delivery costs. For orders below you are liable for delivery costs.

How do I know my watch is authentic?

Every watch sold by TimeTraders is guaranteed to be 100% authentic and genuine. We conduct extremely rigorous checks of every watch before we list it on our website. Authenticity has never once been an issue at TimeTraders.

Can TimeTraders help me if the watch I am looking for is unavailable?

es, we have relationships with an extensive number of watch suppliers and will be pleased to source the model you are looking for. Simply send an email to info@timetraders.co.za with full details of the watch you’re looking for and we’ll do our best to source it.

What types of payments do you accept?

You can pay us online using our payment partner, Payfast. The process facilitates payment via all major credit cards. We can also make arrangements for payment via bank transfer if you prefer.

DO THE PHOTOGRAPHS ON YOUR SITE SHOW THE ACTUAL PRODUCT I WILL RECEIVE?

We use stock photographs to advertise watches on our website for viewing consistency, however you can click through to view clear photographs of the actual item you are interested in. Each watch is carefully photographed at our offices so that you can inspect every detail and feature up close before your buy. The watch you see is the one you will receive.

Do I receive a warranty with the watch I buy?

Yes. Our vintage collection comes with a one month warranty. For all other watches we provide a standard six month warranty.

Can TimeTraders help me if the watch I am looking for is unavailable?

Buyer protection

Who is TradeSafe?

TradeSafe is a secure digital escrow service and South Africa’s trusted third party in a transaction between you and TimeTraders. The payment platform they provide ensures you can buy from us with complete peace of mind. Only when you’ve got your watch and are completely satisfied with it are funds released to TimeTraders.

What is Escrow?
Escrow is the term used when a 3rd party, (TradeSafe) holds the buyer’s money securely and only releases payment to the seller, (TimeTraders) when they deliver the products ordered This way, buyers get what they’ve paid for without being scammed and sellers get paid on confirmed delivery. It’s a win-win for both buyers and sellers.
How does TradeSafe protect the buyer?
TradeSafe protects you by keeping your money in the Escrow account until TimeTraders delivers your watch and you’re completely satisfied with it. With TradeSafe, you’re guaranteed to get what you pay for or your money back.
Where does my money go after I make payment?
Your money is kept in TradeSafe’s secure, insured and audited Escrow account held with Standard Bank.
What happens if I don’t receive my order, or if I’m not happy with it?
TradeSafe holds your money and will only pay it to TimeTraders once any dispute is resolved to your full satisfaction. If you don’t receive your order TradeSafe will refund you in full. If you are not happy with the goods you receive they can be returned to TimeTraders, and TradeSafe will refund you in full.
What does it cost to use this service?
It costs you nothing. TimeTraders cover the fees levied by TradeSafe for the service.
Who pays for shipping?
All orders over R3,000.00 are shipped free of charge.

WHAT DETAILS DO YOU NEED TO PROVIDE AN INITIAL QUOTE FOR MY WATCH?
Full details of the watch together with clear photographs of the actual timepiece itself and where applicable any paperwork and / or the original box. You can send a WhatsApp to +27 69 354 0660 or complete our online form and upload your pictures on our sell page.
How long does it take to receive an initial quote?
Provided that we receive all the information required and clear photographs you will usually receive an initial quote from us within 24 hours. In certain cases, where we may need to do more research the process may take a little longer, but we will always keep you informed about progress.
If I accept your initial quote what action do I need to take?

We will arrange for our courier to collect the watch from you and have it delivered to our offices. TimeTraders covers the cost of the courier delivery and insurance. When the watch arrives at our offices it will be examined for authenticity, condition and functionality. We then send you a final quote within 48 hours.

When do I get paid if I accept your final quote?

We make immediate payment by electronic funds transfer. The funds should reflect in your account within 24 / 48 hours.

Can I trade-in my watch?

Yes. We follow the same process used when you sell us a timepiece to determine the value of your watch. You can then use the value to trade in your watch against and of the timepieces in our online shop.

Refunds

Do you have a refund policy?
Yes. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase from TimeTraders we will refund the full purchase price and the cost to ship it to you. Courier charges to collect and return an item to our offices will be deducted from the refund amount.

Shipping

How much do I pay for shipping?

If you are selling us your watch we arrange for a courier to collect it and deliver it to our offices. We cover the costs for shipping and insurance. If you are buying a watch we also cover the total cost for shipping and insurance, subject to a minimum order value of R3,000.00. For order below this value shipping costs will be for you account.

Do you insure my watch?

Yes. Our standard courier delivery automatically includes free insurance up to the value of R30,000.00. If the value of your order exceeds this figure we will arrange specific insurance. In the unlikely event that something should happen to your watch during shipping, you are covered for the sale value.

How long will it take for my purchase to arrive?

We ship watches and / or accessories by insured overnight courier. There may be occasions where the delivery will take up to 48 hours depending on where you are based.

Data Privacy

Is my personal information secure with TimeTraders?

Is my personal information forwarded to third parties?

We use your personal information exclusively to process the purchase or sale of your watch. Your information is only divulged to third parties in the instances laid out in our Privacy Policy.
